Drawn presents its new 3D printer !

Hi everyone !

Today, Drawn has the honor and the pleasure to present its new robot, lent by the brand KUKA !

We have spoken about our project to create Galatéa replicas, for a long time now.
Well, know that, that’s it ! Galatéa finally has a little sister !

Smaller, lighter, and orange, Drawn presents its new robot, lent by the brand KUKA until the end of April !

Thus, this new 3D printer will help Galatéa to make Drawn creations !

In fact, her little sister has already created her first ASIT seat, on last February 9th !
And we can say that she made it in her image, since it is orange, white, grey and black !

This new robot also worked on the “Great Stadium” lions !
Thus, it has taken over from Galatéa, on one of the biggest Drawn’s project !

Her first two creations having been made successfully, we can say that this new 3D printer, succeeded in proving she is as efficient as her big sister !
So, no favoritism and no jealous ! 😉

We welcome this new robot and hope that it will perfectly fit in with the Drawn team ! 😉

Thanks to KUKA, it is thus one of the biggest Drawn’s project which comes true !

So we want to warmly thank KUKA for lending us their robot until the end of April !
Thanks to them, not only a dream comes true but the production is progressing twice as fast !

We are really thrilled to have introduced you to Galatéa first little sister and we hope that dozens of others will be born soon !

Drawn : Galatéa decorates her Christmas Tree !

Hello everybody !

Here we go ! The festive season is coming fast !
Soon Santa Claus will come to put a multitude of gifts under our trees – who knows maybe some of them will be Drawn’s creations ?! – and Galatéa wants to be sure to receive hers !

This year, our friend thus wanted to have her own Christmas Tree and above all to decorate it !

And as a 3D printer, Galatéa had to use her own equipment !
Her arm and her famous filaments thus allowed to create wonderful garlands, in Drawn way !

In flashed colors which characterize us, these ones have revolutionized the traditional Christmas Tree !
Thus, with Drawn, even Christmas is in 3D !

Drawn tests a new bio material !

Hello everybody !

Today, Drawn presents its new bio material ! That’s right ! During the holidays, Drawn was not idle and has innovated !

Drawn : Always more eco-responsible and environmentally friendly !

Last June, Solidsmack handled in an article about Drawn, the ecological challenge we face. So we wrote an article about it , in which we told you that we already rose to the challenge, and that you should read about a new bio material soon !

Well… Know that this day has come ! That’s right ! Galatéa spent a few days at the beach this summer but she also worked a lot ! Between sunbathing and leisure, Madam thus took the time to make a new ASIT seats prototype. This one has been produced from a material called “cellulose acetate”, developed by SOLVAY, a multinational company, which would like to become a prominent partner of Drawn, with its materials still in R&D.

Drawn : Zoom in on our new bio material !

Cellulose acetate is a biodegradable thermoplastic made from wood, which gives it a considerably reduced ecological footprint, compared to traditional polymers. It is transparent and easily dyed.
The tested material comes directly from the Research and Development offices of the SOLVAY multinational, with whom we envisage a partnership.

Thus, it allows us to produce products with a considerably reduced ecological footprint. So, it totally coincides with Drawn values, which are the eco-responsibility and the respect for the environment.

This new bio material is also totally compatible with our production process. Indeed, for Drawn, it is essential to use thermoplastic materials, since Galatéa needs to heat them to make your creations.

Finally, it is also necessary for Drawn to make its products with easily dyed materials. Indeed, Drawn’s concept being based on a total personalization of your creations, we must be able to offer you a multitude of different colors ! 😉

Thus cellulose acetate is the perfect material to make our ASIT seats !
Still at the Research and Development stage by our future partner, we are currently working toward its commercialization.

And given that the test of this new material was totally successful, we could eventually, use cellulose acetate for a specific range of our products.

Drawn : Photo shoot at the pool !

Hi everyone !

It’s summer, it’s hot, the weather is nice… So our creations take the opportunity to go basking around the pool and sunbathe, after a very busy year !

Our creations can’t go for a dip or make lengths series but it doesn’t stop them to get a wee bit of a tan !

That’s right ! Last August 19th, our seats designed by Samuel Javelle, our vases and our coffee tables, went out of our workshop to fully enjoy the nice weather and bask at the swimming pool ! 😉 Because, yes, they love our friend Galatéa but they also love getting some fresh air ! 🙂 All our flashy colored creations have thus lighted up this beautiful day even more !

And besides basking, our vases, seats and coffee tables, shined in front of Sylvain’s lens ! Thus, our creations have posed around the pool, in the garden and on the steps, to show you how much they fit perfectly to any kind of outside, without any risk to be damaged !

Might as well combine business with pleasure or pleasure with business (you choose, because we find both useful and pleasant, so… 😉 )

Drawn : Galatéa shines for PLDM !

Hello everybody !

Drawn has successfully collaborated with PLDM by PALLADIUM ! Today, it is Galatéa’s turn to be center stage ! Yes, Madam became model for the last PLDM by PALLADIUM ad campaign ! Let’s go back on her moment of glory !

Galatéa is not only a 3D printer ! No, in her free time, she is also a star !
The proof is, our friend succeeded in gatecrashing the last PLDM by PALLADIUM campaign, launched today ! Indeed, the shoes brand wanted Galatéa to appear in a one minute-and-a-half spot, which promotes its Fall / Winter 2015 collection. You can thus admire Galatéa behind the models Camilla, Monika et Emil.
This 3D printer is a true star ! This is again proof that everyone (and everything !) can become famous ! 😉

The brand new collection conveying both authenticity and modernity, Drawn and Galatéa have naturally collaborated with PLDM for its last campaign. Indeed, we want you to know that PLDM values are also Drawn’s ! 😉

Drawn : Our Kickstarter Campaign Assessment !

Hi everyone !

Drawn’s Kickstarter campaign ends today ! So, we would like to thank you for your support and your generosity, all along this adventure !

Drawn : what Kickstarter brought to us !

Thanks to you and to $ 30,000 you committed – so practically twice my aim ! -, Drawn has grown tremendously !

First of all, I had the opportunity to launch my first furniture and design items collection, in collaboration with talented designers. Then come the innovative materials, the very new creations and the participations in exhibitions, on which I had the pleasure to meet you ! All of this was possible thanks to YOU !

I particularly thank the numerous backers ! Special mention to US backers, whose participation was very generous ! As you know, we have been very busy by lots of projects since the campaign has ended but now, I hasten to offer you your rewards !
So, I am looking forward to meeting you and thanking you in person, around a Vegan dinner or a Yoga class ! As for Galatéa, she is very impatient to make your creations ! 😉

Thus, this Kickstarter campaign is also an opportunity for me to spend great moments with all the people who helped us to create and promote this project !

Thanks to all of you, Drawn is growing and my ambition to offer you personalized and environmentally responsible furniture, available in stores close to you, materializes a bit more every day !

For now, your contributions have allowed a mass production. Thus, we have been able to optimize our process for the seat and Galatéa has improved her productivity, since the time of production has been divided by two ! Once again, a big thank you !

Drawn beats Ikea !

Today, we announce that Drawn beats Ikea ! That’s right !
In any case, that is what Gizmodo declared on its website ! 😉 Well… We don’t want any issue with the brand… but let’s come back on the arguments made by the blog ! 😉

Drawn and Galatéa : A concept which reinvents furniture !

The blog dedicated to future technologies, sciences, and culture, first introduces our friend Galatéa as an inspiration to revolutionize furniture. It then draws up her portrait, her story and her role. Thus, you discover (or rather rediscover ! ^^) that Galatéa is a 3D printer capable of producing entirely recyclable furniture, from what YOU have imagined !

No more standardization, which makes all interior designs look the same ! It’s now time for custom-made and on-demand creations ! With Drawn, we really choose the furniture and design objects, you want ! Here is the concept which allows us to beat Ikea, according to Gizmodo !

Indeed, as the blog precises, your furniture personalization is almost infinite, as you are free to define the material, the shape, the size and the color of your choice !
Thus, it’s by depositing several plastic layers heated at over 440 degrees Fahrenheit, that Galatéa creates entirely customizable furniture, which can reach six-and-a-half feet long and four feet high ! And that, in less than two hours ! What quickly fulfill your delusions of grandeur ! 😉

Drawn : our Kickstarter campaign has once again the place of honor !

Gizmodo then handles our Kickstarter campaign and its aims. As you know, we have reached our first goal of € 15 000 in 60 hours and our extended goal to € 27 000 in 18 days… ! But did you know that these funds will be used to make Galatéa’s clones and create a collection of furniture, made up from flax, wood or hemp ?

Drawn : Exhibition at the Hello Tomorrow Conference !

As you must know, we were attending to the Hello Tomorrow Conference yesterday and the day before ! So, we had the chance to meet some of you, Drawn fans ! Back to the pictures on the conference !

For those who don’t know this conference, here are some explanations. 😉

The Hello Tomorrow conference brings together more than 4,000 pioneers and trendsetters, in science and industry. Agriculture, environment, healthcare, technologies and mobility sectors, thus gather around innovation. Indeed, the Hello Tomorrow conference aim is to highlight the most promising startups and technologies, which are building today the world of tomorrow.

During three days, more than 2,000 entrepreneurs, investors, companies and journalists meet in Paris, around several workshops and meetings.

The conference in itself lasts two days. On June 25 and 26, the public thus discovered the startup village, in which were featuring the best startups in six different industries. People could also attend to several meetings, delivered by these six industries great representatives and leaders.

Drawn : our booth at the Hello Tomorrow conference !

Now that you know all about the Hello Tomorrow conference, you can well imagine that Drawn had to be there ! 😉 So, Sylvain ran a booth Friday June 26th, on which he exhibited the logos printed by Galatéa, as part of our Kickstarter campaign ! He thus had the opportunity to meet you, you Drawn and Galatéa fans, around a photo shoot with the logos ! Drawn then became for this conference, a Kickstarter ambassador ! ☺

Galatéa also had the honor and the pleasure to make two 3D printed versions of the Hello Tomorrow logo ! These ones have been exhibited during the start-up competition semi-finale ! The small version was made out of a 100% bio sourced material ! This is again proof that Drawn is eco responsible ! 😉 With that, we let you watch its making video, signed Galatéa… !

Blog Esprit Design Contest : Little reminder !

First of all, here is a little reminder of the context…

To support Drawn and its campaign on Kickstarter, “Blog Esprit Design (BED)” has launched in collaboration with us, a contest on last June 15. It was open from Monday 15 to Sunday, June 21, midnight and reserved for metropolitan France.

This competition allowed you to win a Drawn ASIT seat to a value of €240.
Thus, you had the chance to create a unique and personalized piece ! Once your creation was defined, you could determine the color of your choice with Sylvain !

This contest was digital and “connected”. To have a better chance to win, you had to share it actively on BED Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages ! So, we looked forward to your “sharings”, retweets and regrams !

And to increase your chances, you could participate on all the social networks !

This past week was the time ton install Galatéa in the heart of Lyon, in Part Dieu district.

A large amount of work needs to be done to adjust parameters to the new environment (outdoor under a tent).
