It was the first time for Drawn to show of locally in Lyon…

We wish to all a great Fête des Lumières and also a merry Christmas.

We made it! Drawn will be present at the MakerFaire event in Paris and will be introducing Galatea to the public!
We’re very excited about our participation in this event, the first of its kind in France – it’s a huge achievement for us.

We’ve invested a great deal of time and personal funds in this epic adventure, and we hope to make a great impression.

We’ll soon be on our way to Paris from Lyon in order to set everything up.
Do join us there, and expect a few surprises at our stand!

Let’s meet on June 21st, we’ll be hard to miss.

Our original goal being to print some furniture, and Samuel having scripted the design protocol for a first stool, we fired up our newborn robot Galatea and gave it a try.

After about 10 days of tests at the plant, Sylvain felt that the day ahead of him might just be a great one for Drawn…

He prepared the machine, set up a camera, added some colour to the raw material – for the funky French touch -, and launched the process.

30 minutes later, 10 layers had been made, and everything was running smoothly !
The robot suddenly became a major attraction within the factory, with all workers, team leaders and even white collars working in the plant gathering around Galatea to admire it at work – they were truly hypnotized by the whole thing.

It did indeed end up being a fantastic day.

Our first printed piece of furniture was born.

After a few months of extensive research and prospecting, Sylvain found the best suppliers for all the parts required to build his large-scale 3D printer. They were all shipped to Lyon, and assembly began. 3D printing was only a few minor efforts away.

This first essential step was good enough a reason for Samuel and Sylvain to shake hands and sign an agreement to launch their future company.

The Drawn team was born!
